  • Das Konsortium zum Schutz der Weine von Alghero wurde 2007 gegründet, um die KUB «Alghero» (ital. DOC - Weine mit kontrollierter Ursprungsbezeichnung) zu fördern und zu schützen, deren Herstellervorschrift 1995 genehmigt wurde. Die Geschichte des Konsortiums hat jedoch weit zurückreichende Wurzeln: In der Region Nurra Algherese, dem Gebiet, das sich bis in den Nordwesten Sardiniens erstreckt und von der kontrollierten Herkunftsbezeichnung betroffen ist, hat der Anbau der Rebstöcke eine tausendjährige Geschichte und im Laufe der Jahre hochwertige Weine mit starker Charakterisierung hervorgebracht.

    Die Rebe ist sowohl in den Küstengebieten als auch in den innersten Gebieten ein charakteristisches Element der sardischen Landschaft. Eine Präsenz, die mehrere Jahrhunderte zurückreicht: Neueste Studien zeigen, dass die ersten Weinbaupraktiken in diesem Land vor über 3000 Jahren zurückverfolgt werden können.

Die DOC «Alghero» umfasst ein Gebiet im Nordwesten Sardiniens in Italien, das sich von der Küste der gleichnamigen Stadt erstreckt und sich etwa 30 km landeinwärts erstreckt.
