A FESTIVAL DEDICATED TO WINE, MUSIC, TASTINGS, CULTURE AND SHOWS IN ALGHERO FROM 2 TO 6 JULY

The city of Alghero is preparing to host the first edition of Alguer Wine Week: Sardinian Wines Festival: an unmissable event for lovers of wine, gastronomy, music and culture.
The event, a celebration of wine in all its forms, will take place from 2 to 6 July at Lo Quarter-Largo San Francesco, in the heart of the historic centre of the Sardinian-Catalan town.

The 2024 edition starts with a major international event: from 3 to 5 July, the city of Alghero will host the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles - Sparkling Wines Edition, a prestigious competition dedicated to sparkling and effervescent wines from all over the world.

Alguer Wine Week will accompany this extraordinary event, hosted for the first time in Sardinia.

COME AND DISCOVER THE WINES OF WINERIES FROM ALL OVER SARDINIA

Visiting Alguer Wine Week will be like diving into the wineries of Sardinia, a true ‘Island of Wine’, with a sea of tastings. 


The square in Lo Quarter - Largo San Francesca will be animated by the stands of the Consorzi del Vino della Sardegna, where it will be possible to find the products of their member wineries, ready to tell their story, their terroir, and their most representative wines. 

The tastings will be accompanied by events, music, and DJ sets, to create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere, immersed in the magical summer evenings in Alghero.

Alguer Wine Week will therefore represent a unique opportunity to explore the wine diversity of the entire region. 


The location of Lo Quarter will host the stands of 7 different consortia and groupings of wineries, ready to showcase wines from all over Sardinia.

The participating consortia will be:

  • Consorzio Alghero DOC
  • Consorzio del Cannonau di Sardegna DOC
  • Consortium of Vermentino DOC
  • Consortium Vermentino di Gallura DOCG
  • Cellars of Coros 
  • Romangia Consortium
  • Consortium of Malvasia and Terralba DOC


The tastings will be offered with the purchase of a ticket that will include: glass, small bag and tasting tickets.

WINES, MUSIC, EVENTS AND SHOWS

Wine tastings, live music, tastings of typical products, shows and much more, from Tuesday to Saturday: the event will provide a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in a festive atmosphere enriched by cultural events celebrating wine culture.

The programme of the event will include meetings with producers, seminars held by experts in the sector, and moments of entertainment, thus offering a complete overview of the regional wine sector and its future prospects.


Musical performances will be organised by Fondazione Alghero and the Sassari CCIAA's Salude e Trigu project.


The event promises to be an interesting and not-to-be-missed appointment for connoisseurs and new wine enthusiasts alike, ready to be enveloped by the warm hospitality and timeless charm of Alghero. 


An opportunity not to be missed for all those who wish to enjoy an authentic and memorable wine experience, tasting excellent glasses of Sardinian wines.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Alguer Wine Week will be held from 2 to 6 July 2024 at the Lo Quarter location: details of the event will be included in the programme.

In order to participate in Alguer Wine Week, you will need to purchase a ticket at the entrance, which will include: wine glass, wine bag and 4 tasting tickets.

EXPERIENCE THE MAGICAL ATMOSPHERE OF ALGHERO

Alghero during Alguer Wine Week and Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will tell the story of Sardinian wines in the magical atmosphere of the Alghero summer. 


The streets of the centre will be decked out with decorations and decorations ready to celebrate Alguer Wine Week; a network of restaurants and bars will offer themed menus and tastings.
