Alghero DOC Cabernet

The Alghero Cabernet DOC is reserved for wines that contain at least 85% Cabernet, with the permitted addition of varieties of the same color, authorized for the Sardinia region. The organoleptic characteristics of Alghero Cabernet DOC include an intense ruby-red color. The olfactory profile of the wine is characteristic and ethereal, and on the palate it is dry, full-bodied and not very tannic.

Alghero Cabernet DOC wine can also be classified as Riserva if it undergoes an aging period of at least 24 months, starting from November 1st of the year of harvest. In this case, the organoleptic characteristics include a ruby-red color, a winey, pleasant and characteristic olfactory profile and a wine that is dry and full-bodied on the palate.
